really scared and anxious (please help)

hey there, i have been feeling really anxiuos lately about various things. the first one is something i have heard over the news and from people at work is about these swedish scientists who are going to try to re-create the big bang however if they do this then a black hole will be created and it will be the end of the world. i'm so scared and i have no idea whats going on, i have been getting really bad anxiety attacks and panic attacks over this and have been feeling really unwell. i also have loads of health anx issues on my mind which is making everything worse. does anyone have any advice? please please help, i'm so scared.

When i first read about this weeks ago, it set me off

The thing i did was , well i actually went on MSN and told a friend and she calmed me down, but we talked about it, and we said that they probably wouldnt do it if it was going to cause a major catastrophe and i kept telling myself that....then the what if's come into your mind, and i guess you have to tell yourself that nothing will go wrong, they know what they are doing etc and believe it

Don't worry about the Cern big bang project it's perfectly safe , even Stephen Hawkins says so -

Anyway the machine is broke and there will be no more experiments until next spring.

The german scientist who said CERN was dangerous is actually a chemist by trade. So his specialism isn't physics at all, and really he should leave it to the experts. Thousands of scientists work at CERN, and they all think it's completely safe.

There are lots of machines like this already. There'll all working right now over the world, and no black holes so far. This one is just a little bit bigger.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Sleep easy.

Secondly the media and its scare mongering, is what they do.. Everytime you put on the news, there is a segment that could scare the living day lights out of you. I could never be a news reader, they must be in therapy alot! lol..

Whats the worst case scenario? and No one is able to predict the future, just pure speculation ;)
