Hey!

I was wondering of you guys could give me a little help, if possible?

For about the last 2 years I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression, although the depression has eased off a lot of late. Anyway, heres the thing, I am unsure whats actually wrong with me. I know I said I suffer from anxiety AND panic attacks but I am completely unsure. (I know this may sound stupid, but let me explain.)

I feel that I have a panic attack, a complete rush of numbness, usually all over. Followed by a hammering of my nervous system and a complete feeling of doom etc. This I (kinda) understand. However, I keep getting periods of 'prolonged' panic attacks, which I would call 'anxiety'. Its like a panic attack, except the symptoms are drawn out over a long period of times (days, weeks etc) and are much more diluted.

Are these feelings quiet normal? (In relation to people who suffer from anxiety attacks etc, of course.)

I've been to my Doc and have been prescribed Citalopram. I've been on these since Jan 2007. I was also on Propranolol, these were stopped about 4 months ago.

Does anyone have any idea whats actually 'wrong', since my doctor isn't really much of a help?

Thanks.

(If you want anymore info o how I feel etc, just ask. :))

Panic attacks are acute feelings that occur when placed in what we perceive as frightening situations. Anxiety is the feeling of apprehension but not in such a heightened state.

Most people will suffer from both.

Have a read of these articles from the sites home page.
