Hi all, just thought I would post today, after all its not like Im avoiding the housework!!
I feel as if for over a year now general anxiety, depression and social phobia has taken over my life and put me at a standstill, probably partly due to fighting it instead of accepting it.
But then a couple of months ago I decided I could not live like this so accepted this was me until whenever and so accept it and get on, and even learn about it, that was when I came here.
But at the weekend I suddenly realised I AM GETTING BETTER!! I told them in chat on Sunday and i think seeing it in writing made me believe it even more.Im a great one for lists and writing things down.
I am definitely less anxious, and usually less depressed.
I know I am nowhere near at the end of the tunnel but just being able to accept the fact I feel better is great.
I think this is great and I know if Kairen comes to reply before her hols she will say she has made me feel better, LOL but seriously I do think its due to all the support and advice on here, and knowing I am not alone in this world feeling like this,
Have a nice day gang, love Alexis xx:D

Alexis

Well done, and thanks for the good news. It is always really good to hear that people are feeling better.

I also made a little step forward I think when I accepted that this thing wasn't going to just vanish one morning. I think that acceptance is a big step - we do ourselves no favours by fighting all the time and feeling sorry for ourselves.

There's no reason why after this big step forward you shouldn't keep on feeling better day by day!

Well done!

Alexis and Gareth,

Well done both of you.

Accepting its not an overnight things is really important just as doing something every day to help yourself in some small way - be it learning another bit of information or pushing back those boundaries another inch.

Keep it up..

Let is know if we can help at all.

It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.

Hi all, thank you all for your replies, Gareth I dont think I felt sorry for myself, I felt very cross and a failure but I know what you mean, I thought it was going to get me, although I never felt suicidal, I was convinced my heart would fail or my throat would block with the feelings I had. I know now that would never happen but try telling it to somebody in a severe state of anxiety,Well done to you for accepting it too.
Meg thanks for the wonderful advice as usual.
Sarah Karen and sharron thanks for the kind words, and Kairenget out my limelight LOL, thanks pal for your support, morning noon and night, thanks for help keep me entertained some of the long lonely nights, although I cant go into pubs etc, the forum pub is great, also chatting to you, I have many friends, but I think its only you lot who understand 100%
Thank you all, I have had a very difficult year for many reasons including the anxiety but I am feeling positive, thanks Alexis xx
