Deleted memberships

If a member leaves and requests the membership to be closed does it mean that every previous post that member made is also deleted and would no longer be visible using to anyone using the search facility ?

I believe if the username is deleted then if you do a search it would give an error message of something along the lines 'invalid username' or something of that nature.

Yes but what about any posts that member might have made - would they also be deleted ?

Ok here is what I've found....
If someone asks that their account be closed and you go into the search function the posts and replies that the user did are visible.

We don't usually delete members if they have loads of posts anyway.

On the contrary I would have hoped that all posts are kept in case they are of help to others.
