those who have been in an accident..

So, a little over a year ago, I got hit by a car.
Something that always had bothered me was that I don't remember getting hit. I just remember walking towards the street, and waking up at the hospital.

Is it possible to ever get that part of my memory back??

I am sorry to hear about your accident hun :hugs:

From what I know, this happens alot to people who have bad accidents, they say, heard this on tv, that the mind goes into protective mode and can blank out bad memories of accident trauma.

They said, that with time, some people can recall the memorie, but some could not. Its something that they still don;t fully understand, why some people recall and some not.


I know for me, I would think it a good thing that I could not remember, give thanks to my protective mode.

I hope this has helped you understand a little more, the mind IS a powrfull thing, it has lots of ways it protects us with and this is just one of them.

I was involved in a fatal car crash 20 years ago and I dont remember anything at all about the impact.

I can very vaguely relate to voices from paramedics and fire crew but nothing more.

I have often wondered if I would ever get a recall about this horrible event but I think the mind has decided to blot everything out.

Problem with that is that it causes other things to arise, like anxiety/panic attacks.
