When you are anxious you tend to overbreath (breath too fast). Try breathing out long and fast to the count of ten, then breath in slowly, again couting to ten. This will slow your breathing down and make you feel calmer. Do it two or three times. Try not to worry about your breathing, the more you focus on it the more anxious you will feel.

It happened to me once, after I had a weird dream that I was eating a giant marshmallow - and woke up to find my pillow gone!!! :scared15:

Hi there,

I get this symptom alot with my anxiety, it comes on and off and can last from a few hours or a few days. When I went to see my doctor she said it was purely down to anxiety - same with the lump in the throat.

Try not to worry too much about it (easier said than done I know!) as the more you think about it the worse it will get. It will get better, it's just a pesky symptom!

All the best hun.

yes, i do all the time. I find that breathing in through my belly helps, rather than short breaths through the chest
