If your doctor is aware of your ectopics, and still thinks it will be ok, then why don't you beleive him?

I can understand that Mrs anxiety is playing with you on this, but please, DON'T listen to her, YOUR gp has already said that he CANNOT see ANY reason for this op not to go ahead, ohh hunny, YOU WILL be fine.

It is unerstandable to be a little unsure, this is only natral, :hugs:please hun, be kind to yourself, this op will go WELL.

Ive had had ectopics for many years (coz i allowed the fear of them to rule my life) and ive had minor ops over the years and also given birth 4 times and my heart has never packed up on me. Anxiety produces adrenaline and adrenaline affects the heartbeat/rate and thats all it is.

Take care

Trust your doctor hun, they know best and a team of medical professionals will be taking the greatest care of you, they will not take any unnecessary risks.

If need be maybe speak to your gp and mention your anxiety about the op, they may be able to provide some reassurance.

It is understandable that you are going to be anxious, but it's good that you are able to talk about your anxiety, keep that up as it helps no end.

All the best,

Cat xx

I have had many operations throughout my life as I suffer from a heart condition & I get ectopics too. Now these are NOTHING to do with my heart problem & have been told many time by the cardiologist they are completley harmless, which they are. You will be fine with your op, these funny beats are harmless but very annoying if nothing else. Are you looking for reasons not to have the op cos you are scared of having a G/A? You can PM me if you want. I don't know if you have never had op before so you are probably anxious about that so if you want to know what its like, you are welcome to PM me. Good luck with everything tho if I don't hear from you. :hugs:

Hi,

i can understand you being anxious about having an op, but before it you will have a thorough pre med that would pick up on anything that could potentially cause problems but etopics not being one of them , my mum had them for many years had ecg evrything and was told tht they are nothing to worry about , im sure you will be fine and the op will go well on your shoulder xx :) :)
