throat spot

is it normal to have small white spots in the throat? I have one, about 1-2mm round, yellow/white in the back of my throat. totally painless and has not grown at all since i noticed it 1 month ago.

is it possibe to get like a white build up under the skin? looks like it is in a small bit of lymphoid tissue, but not my tonsil!

Hey i have these they are called tonsil stones or tonsiliths its common but not many people actually notice them but as i suffer HA i did notice them quite regualy they are little pus pokets and if u actually push on them or rinse ur mouth out with some help they will actually pop out of ur mouth ,i warn u they do smell foul Lol nothing to alarm you but they do as its a collection of all the day to day build up frm food etc i wouldnt worry they are normal use some anti bac mouthwash and have a rinse.watch googling this one cos it will metion allsorts but it does have info about tonsil stones and this sounds like them to me but if in doubt go and see ur gp to reasure you .hope this helps you i tottaly understand they are nasty lil critters but are harmless.lots of love C.xxxxx

Forgot to mention that they also hide in the tonsil crypts thats y it isnt easy for them to disloge easy that explainig why uv had them there for a month or so .dnt worry though some people just have deeper tonsil crypts than others. xxxx

thanks for your reply but this isnt a tonsil stone. I get tonsil stones and this is completely different. This is actually stuck to my throat, not my tonsil.

any ideas? off to docs this morning for a second opinion!

yeah well go and see ur doctor i would jus to b sure.But it could jus be throat infection cos wiv tonislitius u have white spots all over your throat i know that. but u say ur throat isnt painful!!maybe it is a start of an infection or abit of thrush .but try not to worry just wait untilll u see ur docs. best wishes C.xx if u need to chat jus pm me

i went to see the doc. he didnt seem overly concerned. he gave me the option to see an ENT specialist just for my own reassurance for which i have agreed to. I am stessin about that now!
I am terrified of what they will do or find!

I keep telling myself it is my ownd decision to be referred, but in the back of my mind the anxiety is saying " the doc must think there is something wrong to refer me"!!!!

I went through similar thing darling for 8wks and only jus gettin over it but my prob was different but still in connection to my throat i couldnt eat solid foods for 8wks only ate soup it started off wiv the feeling that somethink was caught at the bk of my throat near my tonsil so i fought it was a tonsil stone but i had no tonsil stone then, i googled my symptom and cnacer of eshogues came up oh my i was a wreck, fought i was dyin and after that i couldnt swallow foods it felt as if they were getting stuck in foodpipe so then i went to hospital they xrayed my throat nothing was stuck etc, i went to gp and he booked me in to see ENT jus like u it took ages for my appoitment but finally it came and i went on my own which was worse i fought i was gna ave a panic attack but i didnt i managed to calm down anyway the specialist nubbed my nose and put a camera up my nose and down into my throat to ave a look around throat/foodpipe etc and no tumour like i fought nothing all except Acid reflux and alot of it to say so he said thats y im havin the feeling that food is sticking because the acid is inflamming my foodpipe he gave me sum esomprazole tabs and within taking a few days of them i could swallow foods again oh my id neevr been so happy b4 lol it has took me a while to get bk to normal wiv eatong etc because id comlty forgot how to swallow solid foods but im getting back to normal now and im trying to get rid of my health anxietys with help n support as it was wrecking my life i know its hard but please try to stay calm iam sorry ffor rambling i just am sayong that wot i ahd was acid reflux and becasue id googled i think that i made my symptooms worse because of wot id looked at.seeing the ENT will really help u ur feel realived but i just thik that its just maybe abit of a tonsil stone thats lodged there but u say u dnt thinks its one Hmmm where actually is it plz explain ? hope this helps u id really love to here from u again to see how u get on etc, stay calm were hhere for u .love C.xxx

If I open my mouth really wide and slightly point my tongue out, just below my right tonsil, on the back/side of my throat is a small tear shaped bit of gland/tissue. -Probably 3-4mm long. I have one on both sides which is reassuring.
The one on the left is a pinky rose colour. The one on the right is the same colour but has a white blob within it. 1-2mm round. it hasnt enlarged the tissue at all,nor has grown since I discovered it, it's just sat in their.-rather like the yolk in an egg!!
My wife says it looks as though it could be squeezed!

i dont think it gives me any pain. I do feel that the area is irritated but I am sure it would be from constantly checking and poking!

Are you sure it isnt a tonsil stone though.becos they can b squeezed or maybe its a cyst or jus abit of skin maybe?ave u seen ur gp wot did he say it was im sure its nothing serious becas they wud of seen this and investigated sooner.love chanty.xx

seen 2 gp's who said it is probably nothing to worry about. They offered me referral for my own peace of mind. the last gp said if I see an ent, then he will probably tell me straight away to put my mind at rest.
Althouth the spot is painless, I do have an itch, especially when talking and a slight prickle in that area of my throat. I also have loads of cattarr? maybe its an irritation caused by Post nasal drip??

A couple of years ago I went to the doc's with the exact same thing. I went in and said to the doc that I had mouth cancer. She examined my throat and said that I actually had a tiny cyst.

I still have to check it every single day. Sometimes it is still white/yellow and sometimes it is just the normal pink colour. Hasn't changed in size for the 2 years.

UPDATE: seen ENT specialist and says it is a fluid retention cycst and is noting at all to worry about!
He says my throat is probably "irritated" from being stressed and anxious.

Now that worry is out of my head I am suffering from insomnia!!! fantastic isnt it!

it sounds more like thrush and stress can worsen this if you drink alcohol or smoke,which i do! I noticed it before i was diagnosed with bronchitis and have had this white spots in my mouth and the side of my tongue for about 9 weeks now.i had a full blood test and everything was normal.I have found that when i dont drink alcohol for 3 or four days and not smoking so much its almost gone.im no doctor,so it is important that you get it checked out.i know if like me i had panic attacks about it,which can be debillitating.im coping but still look down my throat with a torch,my mate thinks its funny and i try and get strength from that.I heard lemon juice is good for it,but i use a mouth wash and gargle really hard usually it takes it away as it dislodges.something else i noticed i have been drinking alot of those pro biotic drinks and afterwards i can see it has stuck in places at the back of my throat.again a good gargle and it is gone.....worry worry why do we put our selves through this...If you havent read the article on (what to do when you have a panic attack) then give it a read ,a very powerful affirmation was (what if) change it for so what!!! remember we all find it hard and its are state of minds that really frighten us.we can all get through this togeather.good luck my friend...

Hellooooooo guys! this still active? last month i had sorethroat and it cured in 3 days, and i notice that i had this red lumps at the back of my throat until now. then i was wondering if this is normal or not?because my little brother had a red lumps at throat too.but he does not had sore throat and painless too
