Cured Outlook - drastic change?

Does anyone else ever wonder whether if they were cured that their entire outlook on life would be changed and that would mean facing "friends" who aren't really friends, family members who treat you like s**t, and co workers who don't have any respect for you cos they think you're the quiet, weird one? That the change letting go would bring is just too scary a truth to face and its easier to live closed and keeping your mouth shut? That this is why you resist getting better and never ask for help when you really need it?

I hate being afraid.
