Dosulepin/Dothiepin/Prothiaden

Hi all,

Has anyone any experience of this drug; it's one of the older TCA antidepressants; I've been prescribed it for anxiety after a terrible time with Citalopram.
I find Dosulepin is generally o.k. except for the first hour or so of the day (its generally taken at night); so difficult to wake up and get going!

Hi Boozy22

My sister has been on dosulepin for 20 years - and feels absolutely fine. I have been taking Clomipramine for approx 1.5 weeks and feel better, so I;d give it a go if I were you as many people find SSRI's unsuitable and the older/tried/tested tricyclics still work well for many people. I also find mornings difficult to get going - but coffee helps and also try taking them slightly earlier in the evening and going to bed a bit earlier - this worked for me.
