Hi all,

I am totally new to this and am posting on behalf of my 14 year old daughter who has had " behavioural problems" since a young age. Gone through all the usual channels: Doctors, Mental health, counciling etc. She has now been prescribed Citalopram 20mg. I have read up on this and aware of everything that goes with it. Just want her to be happy and control the anxiety that brings on the "unstoppable rage" Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Danny,

Although i'm on here for me, but my son also has problems. As you can guess i blame myself.
I have had problems for years but only now am i coming to terms with all. I am on Citalopram. When my son first starting showing signs of stress and anxiety i took him to the doctor and didn't want him to go on medication but it was the best thing i did.
We went to see his tutor at college, they have been very suppotive. I have hugged him,:hugs: told him how much i love him and that everyone is here to help. (he's now 19, objetcs to the hugging!)
I think there is so much pressure on being a teenager and believe that if someone had helped me when i was younger i might not be as bad as i am now.
I wish you lots of luck.

Hi Danny
:welcome: to NMP. I had a lot of problems with my son growing up as he had severe ADHD. With a lot of help and medication he is now 23, a father and holding down a good job - a place i never thought he would get to a few years ago - there is always hope.

I think you will like it here as people are very supportive and there is a lot of information.

Hope to see you in chat
