Do you find it hard to meet up with people from here, or is it actually easier to be around people who are suffering/have suffered from the same problem? It's just that I know there are people who have social anxiety, panic attacks and health anxiety and I was thinking that it'd be hard to arrange an event with lots of people who might be scared of going. I don't mean this in an offensive way or anything. How do people manage when they have these fears?

Sorry if this is kind of a stupid question.

It's not a stupid question!

I guess by the time people are asking or willing to go to one of the "meet ups" then they are feeling a bit braver with in themselves and also big thing for me I find it a whole lot easier if i know i'm going somewhere where the people are all suffering the same anxieties so know what you're going through.

Hope this helps! :D

Hi Scaredycat

Not a silly question. I posted six meet ups before anyone responded. Members are nervous to meet up and sometimes, I feel they are embarrassed. Some do have problems with travel and that becomes another anxiety.
On my first meet up that actually took place, five members said they would attend and only one showed. We have been firm friends ever since. Our partners attended and we are all friends together. It also helps the partners to understand our problems and hear it from another sufferer.
I say do not get despondent, be patient and keep trying.
Hope this inspires you to continue posting.

Best wishes
Leonard:)
