I thought I would share a few ways to relax from GA.

1. Take a nice hot bath with bubbles and maybe some candels.
2. Sing or Dance
3. If you have a pet lie with them and mimic there soft slow breathing
4. Have a cup of Camamile Tea.
5. Chat in the chat room, there is always someone that listens
6. Light a candle and stare at the flame
7. Listen to music of Sea Waves or Whale Song
8. If you have gold fish watch them for a while
9. Watch a happy movie
10. Snuggle up in front of a fire, maybe with a hot chocolate
11. Drawn of paint a picture
12. Lie down and think your on a floating boat and the sea is around you.

If anyone has any other Tips or Ideas please post them below.

Great list :) I totally agree. Nothing like my cat purring on my lap to make me calm! Try also hot milk and cereal, taking a very short walk, putting on your favourite music and putting your feet up.

Some lovely idea's! I try almost all of those. I like crafts and jigsaws to relax and a good workout at karate always makes me nice and tired afterwards and gives me a good nights sleep...it's a great way to de-stress.

While looking at a goldfish swim round and round would be as agonising as watching the washing machinefor me, some great tips LB :)

Thing I use more often than anything else is "self talk". This isn't just for relaxation, I use it all the time.

Sounds weird until you try it for a while. Talk to yourself (obviously not out loud though or you may get some strange looks !).

It helps not only relax but dispel anxiety. Everything from what my ideal day would be (relaxation), to why I want to get off a bus but won't (Anx help). I find myself quite chatty in the que at Tesco's (praise for doing the shop, know the que is only temporary, been here before can do it again). Next thing I'm bagging up.

Krakers.
