Cipralex

Hi,

I have just started taking Cipralex and it seems my physchatrist and GP have prescribed me to start on 20mg for a few days and then up it to 2 tablets equaling 40mg daily.

I keep finding out and even reading the leaflet that comes with it that 20mg is the maximum, is 40mg normal? I'm paranoid that there has been some error with my prescription (like maybe they've given me 20mg instead of 10mg), I didn't look at the prescription long enough to know what mg it was, i just gave it into the chemist.

Any help would be nice.

I think 20 is average start dose and 60 is max. A pharmacist told me this. Phone your dr to check tomorrow? Good luck:yesyes:

i dont want to say anything in case i am not right but im pretty sure 20mg is the max on cipralex and the usual starting dose is 5 or 10mg

citalopram on the other hand can be started at 20 and then can be given up to 60mg - just check its cipralex and not citalopram that you have
