I am a 42 year old male who is very anxious about his health, though to everyone else I appear well and healthy.

I got a couple of periods of Atrial Heart Fibrulation a while back but my heart went back to normal. I had lots of tests done and these were all normal.

I panic when I get ectopic beats. I know these can be normal but my doctor panicked me when he said I shouldn't get these during exercise and if I did it could be serious. Now when I go for a run I become super aware of my heart beating.

I think it jumped yesterday once when jogging very lightly when not out of breath at all and once today when stopping for a minute after running.

If I run hard I don't notice anything at all wrong.

Please help could do with some reassurance

Thanks

I think they just want to make sure that they are not exercise induced. I went for a stress test and was having loads of PVC's before I even started - I had to get my heart up to 180 before they stopped, and my cardiologist wasn't at all concerned - he said he was watching to see that they DID stop eventually due to my increased heart rate - I think it's another matter if exercise makes them worse.

hiya

please try not to worry

i have had them for years now not so bad i do get them if i go to the gym but the heart doc i seen said as long as i have had my heart checked and i don't get to many when i exercise then i will be just fine as i am sure you will be .
one thing i do know is there more you think about them and worry the more ectopics u will get so try calm down and be reassured that your doc knows your heart is ok
