pooping out

While I was on another forum, I came across the term "poop out" which they say means that the medication stops working over many years and you have to up the dose in order to get the same effect.

Anyone got any thoughts or opinions on this?

HI had this problem after nearly 2 years of being on it. It's a shame because it was a VERY effective medication. When I finished taking it I was on the highest dose, and it stopped working. Brilliant for both anxiety and depression for me but it does tend to sedate you more than other medications which can as a result make you lazy.

Happens to me all the time. Been on five different anti depressants in 2 years!!

I also read somewhere that when they did clinical trials for Paroxetine, it was only for a period of 12 months, but again everyone is different.
