View Full Version : (me again) ibs
is it possible with ibs to go to the toilet lots all day everyday, im now convinced i got bowel cancer aswell as loads of other things , just need some reassurance really please
Hello Amanda,
A friend of mine had irritable bowel syndrome, and it made her go to the loo lots of times. I know anxiety can also affect this condition too. It is hard not to worry I know, but i am sure you do not have bowel cancer - just classic signs of ibs.
I suffer IBS and i can tell you when i have it bad i could move into my bathroom for the time i spend in there! Please try not to worry i don't think for one moment you have bowel cancer.

What is lots?
I used to go about 3 times a day
prob about 6 times a day and i have to get up in night also to go
I have/had IBS and that is not excessive, however have u been seen by a dr?
I had pains and my stomach would spasm so much that it jumped up as if a baby were inside kicking.
What other symptoms have you got?

As you may know I had the same and ended up being diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
I would push the doc for some more tests as they fobbed me off for 2 years saying it was anxiety etc
i will do thank you nicola , did you have any other other symptoms

The main issue was constant diarrohea which led to piles that bled.
I was also permanently bloated.
The other thing you could try is a low fibre diet - they put me on that and I am currently on a no-fibre diet!
i know you been really ill with it also ,hope your feeling a bit better
hi nicola did you have a shilling test to see what it was

I went to see a consultant to look at the piles cos they were causing me grief. He took one look up my behind and said it was very very imflammed and did a biopsy.
I was then referred for a sigmoidoscopy and the rest is history as they say.
I am not so good at the moment but thanks for asking.
thank you all who replied on this last night think a definate trip to the drs is in order
