lung specialist.

I am so scared that I may have lung cancer (I know this is HA but I am truly having a hard time. Been having pa for the last four days straight where I can't breathe and I am just crying constantly.

They saw some white stuff in my weak lung. They said it's been there for a long time. 2004 or even previousily. I still have my cough. The orginally thought it was pneumonia. Now they aren't sure. They put me on meds, which they told me would have killed any viral or bacterial infections.

The told me that I have inflamation in my lung. And thats why I have wheezing and crackling (since I only have the use of one lung - he was referring to my weak lung which has only 35% oxygen exchange).

I told him I never wheezed or crackled in my life only when I am sick with an infection.

He put me on advair and ventolin. I called my cardiologist and he was little concerned. Told me he would get me right into a lung specialist and that we would take care of it.

Sigh I am so scared been having meltdowns for the last few days.

Poor Hubby!!!!

Poor poor you - it coud just be a really stubborn infection. A friend of my mums who had smoked heavily all her life was told she almost certainly had lung cancer and even had one lung removed and amazingly the pathology turned out to be a very bad localised infection - so the poor woman lost a lung but she was so glad it wasn't lung cancerc - she stopped smoking straight away and is fine 10 yrs on.

I know the waiting is the worst thing in the world - you already sound as if you have bad problems anyway which is hard to deal with without the HA as well.

Let us know how you go on and we will all be hoping its nothing to worrya bout.:hugs:

Thinkin of you and hoping you will get it sorted soon. Deep seated infection could be resistant to many antibiotics. A friends lung infection was eventually cured after 3 or 4 different antibiotics were tried. Let us know how you get on.Hugs

Yes Ive heard this too.... If you get an infection in the lungs, it can take different antiboitics to completely get rid of it!!!
Please dont worry, if they had found something really wrong they would have found this and told you... Your consultant is just wanting to get it sorted for you, but this doesnt mean it cancer, it just means it needs sorting !!
Good luck and keep us posted if you need any more help
