Hi all.....not posted for a while, hope your all ok

Well.....once again my old friend the ectopic heartbeat has decided its time (yet again) to come and plague me..... as usuall i start with just a few per day and as the days go by the ectopics increase dramaticly into having 100 or so per day and sometimes more.......

it seems they get to a point where there they are every other beat and this lasts for days untill for some reason they start loseing strenght and pace and finally disapate into nothing and go back into remission........

As all suffers on here with this niggly problem ive had all the tests, ecgs loads of them, echo, 4 visits to a&e in the past and all is normal, no defects...actually caught the ectopics or one of them on an ecg and the docs told me they were pvcs and as everybodys said in the medical profession....DONT WORRY ABOUT THEM.....so now i dont..

What i do find is that they depress me servearly and i get really brassed off when there at there worst..........Having done lots of research on this matter reading many many posts till im litteraly bog eyed does help a little and ive found evidence to suggest that there is a strong relationship between the heart ectopics and the stomach ie vagus nerve..........my connection to this is that i have a small hietos hernia which i was diagnosed with at 17yrs of age......this condition has never bothered me much and never been treated for it.....

what i have been noticing is that whenever i get episodes of ectopics i get lots of wind, feeling bloated and sometimes a little acid reflux........With this in mind ive been to the docs today and put this theory to him....suprisingly he was in agreement i thought it would be a good idea to put this little experiment to the test.....he's prescribed me lansoprazole to take for two months.........so im kinda hoping this could be my cure....

I was wondering if any of you good people has put this experiment to the test and found the results you've been looking for.....AN END TO EPISODES OF ECTOPICS.....

I would be interested to no your findings because i have many other avenues to explore.....

thanks everyone, be positive and take care

chris.

Hi chris

You are very right about all that you wrote! I have also a small hietus hernia and suffer also from episodes of ectopics. it used to be worse but 5 years ago because it was so bad i stopped all sodas, spices, chocolate, coffee, etc etc that can cause heartburn and make the ectopics worse. when i studied this a lot i remember reading about something in the gastro something something (sorry cant remember anymore..) pressing the heart, and there for you feel these heartbeats. i took nexium for a long time but changing my diet made all the difference. and i talked to specialist then too, they told me the same. you can also feel these even though you dont feel bad heartburn at the time. but as you said, you do notice bloating, wind etc. so go ahead and try the mdication, change your diet, if you already have not, just for few months and see if there is a difference. worked for me, even though when attack comes i do still feel them.

Hi there bonny lad!

I was a little worried that I haven't seen you about for a while, I hope your shoulder is well on the mend now.:bighug1:

Sorry to hear that you are having such terrible problems with your etopics at the moment. Sounds like you really have done your research though. I also take Lansoprazole for my hernia which works well, although I still take Rennies.

I hope you feel better very soon, look forward to catching up with you. xxx:hugs:
