Hi, I'm sure loads of you have seen on the news today about the trials - using beta blockers for phobias? I wondered if anyone on here takes them for their phobia, particularly emetophobes?

Thanks

P.S. am REALLY desperate now!

Hi Angelai
I took them for a while for my emetophobia/anxiety, but they didn't make much difference, if any. Then the doc realized I had really low blood pressure and had to take me off them anyway. It may be different for you though, but I wouldn't count on it making a big difference.

Best wishes,
Nettles

Thanks Nettles. I have low blood pressure, not helped by the antidepressants. Back to the drawing board I guess

this is not what it seems, taking BB's to remove specific memories was the experiment in order to remove the initial trigger for phobias, not taking them long term. BB's just remove the physical effects of anxiety and is not a cure at all (just papering over the cracks), and in my opinion never should or will be!
Did something start this all off some time back?
