Hey, just thought I'd join and say hi instead of lurking. My name is Sharon and I'm 20 years old. I've always been an anxious person and over the past few years I think I've developed some social anxiety. I have had IBS since the end of March 2008 and have found it very hard to deal with e.g. with regards to socialising, going to the shops etc, and am now at the point that I rarely go out at all (I work and study from home) and I think I've become a bit agoraphobic because of it. Have become increasingly anxious and depressed because of it and have been having panic attacks since January. Prescribed Citalopram a couple of weeks ago and was recommended this site by my doctor, so am hoping things will start improving *fingers crossed* Nice to meet you all :)

Hey ya Sharon, let me also welcome you to the forum, I hope you find the help you need. I know exactly how you feel regarding developing SA as I think that's something I am trying to fight against too as well as my general anxiety that I've always had, just seems like I am anxious about everything these days.
