My doctor has recently prescribed me Mirtazapine, 15mg (one at night) I have not started them as yet as i have been told that they have some nasty side effects. Has anyone else been on them and can tell me their experiences. I was considering Citalopram, but again not 100% sure??

Confused?

Thanks

Hi there,

Just my own persoanl experience, I've been on Mirtazapine (Remeron) since August. Honestly, I haven't had one negative side effect. Everyone is different, but it has worked wonders for me.

Thanks, its good to hear from someone who has something positive to say about it. I have been on Seroxat (Paroxetine) a few years back, but i felt like a cabbage on it.

Does Mirtazapine help you sleep, as i find it hard to get to sleep at night, or that i am always waking up every 2 -3 hours.

It does help so much to talk to others :)

In the beginning, it really helped me sleep. I wasn't foggy or anything like that in the morning. My doctor started me on 15 mg which I think is more sedative than the larger dose. Now that I've been on it for so long, it doesn't have that effect any more.

I know it has kept my really bad panic attacks at bay since I've been on it. I still have anxiety, but I don't any drug can really ever take that away.

Hope this info helps!
