Hi all,

I've recently been prescribed with Seroplex for depression and anxiety. I can't find much information about it, and as I am currently living in France I assume it is a French brandname as the instruction leaflet mentions Escitalopram. Does anyone know much about this? Is it the same? Is there much difference between say Lexapro and Cipralex?

I was just really wanting to be able to read about studies using the drug and the side effects. I was a bit worried that I was prescribed the meds from my GP after one session with her just talking (she didn't check med history or blood pressure) and French doctors tend to overprescribe so I'm just a bit nervous about taking medicine.

I am a NZer currently living in France. I'm a PhD student and I am having severe problems with my supervisor and it is not possible to change. I'm stressed, anxious, tired, worried, upset all the time and I don't want to leave my apartment. I have wonderful friends but lately i've not wanted to socialise either. I can't concentrate and as a result am very behind with my work.

Thanks for your help :)

Hi,
Seroplex is the french name for Ciprolalex. I have just been [today] prescribed the same after 8 years of Effexor. It is supposed to be less addictive than the effexor [i hope], which I found I coulkd not do without - simply did not function at all.

Would be delighted to know how you get on with it.

Best wishes

These type of drugs are not addictive .But they do have to be taken every day .If you dont you will experience withdrawals as you levels change in the blood .You do not experience cravings like an addictive drug .They take abt 4-6 weeks to become effective and you will feel a bit worse as your body adjusts to the effect .There are numerous posts about this .You will get plenty of help and support on your journey so keep posting and I hope you feel better soon ...sue x:hugs:
