Are low grade fevers a symptom of anxiety? I fear getting sick and I fear that any symptoms I have are related to some serious illness I may have. I feel awful & scared now with this fever. I feel cold & have chills but I don't think I have the flu or anything. No other symptom.

My home thermometer always shows my temp less than 37.2 degrees which is normal but my body feels very warm & i get chills.

Don't worry that is fine, I often feel chilly or then too hot but I don't take my temp as i know it would be OK.

I also noticed when my anxiety is high I get a slight temp. My temp is normally about 98 (dont know the conversion) and when anxiety is high it is around 99.5. A real fever is over 100.

99.5 Fahrenheit is about 37.5 celcius. Mine is usually about 99 fahrenheit when i feel very warm. 99 is not bad but my body feels much hotter than 99. it feels like it's burning & is quite warm to touch but i don't have a very high fever. that's strange.

Is that anxiety or hormones or something??

If you're run down, eg tired and stressed, for a long period, your immune system begins to tire and colds and fevers can sneak in. This is very, very common.

If you have convinced yourself that you're ill you could easily be suffering from false symptoms. Again this is very common. Some people can make themselves feel worse than others.

My advice would be to try to ignore your symptoms. They'll go away on their own. Even if you have got a virus or fever, it's hardly life threatening. Your body will fix itself.
