I am female (59) and experiencing some of the symptoms of GAD. I feel very shaky and walking is difficult as my legs feel like jelly. Sometimes I feel as if my body doesn't belong to me. I have always been an anxious person, even as a small child. I am a hypochondriac who doesn't like doctors in case they find something wrong with me!

Although I have a very supportive family certain life events in the past three years have made me even more anxious. I also get phobic about silly things like rain for instance. (the roof leaked last year, but is now fixed)

At present I feel a bit like a basket case and have to force myself to get on with my life. I have responsibilities as I care for two disabled family members.

I came across this website when I was trawling the net and hope I will feel less of a freak if others can empathise with me.
