Hi Last year I had a barium meal and this week had 3 xrays, is that too many to close?

I read xrays carry a risk of developing "c"

Many thanks...

It is believed that high exposure to these rays can cause cancer but when recieving an x-ray you are asked to wear a protective vest to prevent against harmful exposure. I very much doubt that you would have been allowed to have had 3 x-rays if they were going to be harmful to you. There are many health care professionals who are subjected to these rays every day at work so i doubt that 3 properly carried out x-rays could be of any danger to a patient! Stop worrying!!!

Apologies if its not a vest patients have to wear but i do know that there is some procedure carried out to prevent the harmful rays.

Its only harmful when you're over exposed to them, and three isn't an over exposure, you'll be fine, they wouldn't have done them otherwise

best wishes
