hi

my health anxiety is usually focused on my own health - constant checking for lumps/bumps, chest pain etc but a few times ive noticed myself starting to panic over the health of my boyfriend aswell. is this a common thing? everytime he says he feels unwell or has a twinge i feel a need to check him over (although ive not yet done this! :) ). can just about deal with my own health never mind anyone elses.

Hi Katy

I dont worry so much about my husbands health (not because I dont care about him, its just that I can be rational about health issues when its someone else, when its me i'm dying !!)

I do however worry about him when he flies which he does frequently for work. I'm an anxious flyer but I am increasingly noticing that when my husband flies its on my mind for the whole time he will be in the air, I even check online on flight stats website to check when his plane will land / has landed, I finally relax when I know he's touched down safely.

I guess its a similar kind of thing - if something bothers us its probalby natural for that to overspill to worrying about our loved ones.

You never know your fella might be very pleased at the prospect of you giving him a checkover from time to time, lol !!
