does anyone know what the cheapest anti depressant is and thats why it is prescribed
thanks
i have really bad anciety i need a med that will really help and dont wont to be giving something just because its cheap

Emms you only pay the normal prescription charge for your meds so it wouldnt really make any difference.
There isnt any such thing as 'cheap medication' these days hun.
Your doctor will only prescribe what he thinks is appropriate to your needs.
If your in doubt contact your local P.C.T - Primary Care Trust, you'll find the number in your local phone book, they should be able to answer any concerns you have or they'll point you in the right direction if they cant answer anything indepth.

I think she means do doctors just prescribe the cheapest (not necessarily the most effective) kind.

I imagine some doctors would only have the NHS budget in mind but most of them would want to provide the one they know to be effective, or which you have been on before, or which they know to have the least side effects.
