Hi there, I have a question. I began therapy when my HA kicked in about 2 months ago. I live in a very rural area with only 3 counselors here. She was very good at 1st and gave me a packet about CBT. I was scheduled to see her again 2 weeks ago and she called and cancelled me 1 hour before out session. When I had asked her if I was to complete the "homework" part of the packet she told me no, it was only for me to read and if I had questions to bring it back. This kinda led me to feel like she wasn't really doing CBT correctly. Since she cancelled, I have called to reschedule and she never called me back....small town ways and now I have no counselor because I am not going to keep calling.
Question: does anyone know a site where I can do CBT at home through tapes, books, or even online?
Thanks

Hi,

These are 2 online sites that are free, and many people on here have said they helped.

www.livinglifetothefull.com (http://www.livinglifetothefull.com)

www.moodygym.anu.edu.au/ (http://www.moodygym.anu.edu.au/)

I would say though don't give up on your therapist yet, mine has done the same, cancelled appointments. I know its disappointing especially when you're feeling vulnerable but actually speaking to a professional face to face really helps. I am doing an online computer course through my gp Fearfighter, although its good I know I wouldn't have made the progress I have without my therapist.

Good luck with your CBT.:) Anna x

Thanks Anna. I will check out these sites. It is funny because when I am feeling good is when she calls back..but when I am in my dark place...she cancels. Today is good...but I have learned to take only 1 day at a time b/c this monster will sneak back up on me without warning. I thought a website might help because this site has saved my life. Thanks for the reply.
