its me again. Have aptment for breast clinic tomorrow - GP thinks i have cysts , but so scared.
They sent me information on tests i might have , one of them is a core biopsy , now convinced myself that if i have this one it means they think ive got cancer. Has anyone had this test and been ok.
Im going mad with all this worry...

Hi PB
I had this last september. GP thought my lump was fibroid, but I insisted on urgent appointment - actually arranged it myself then asked her to fax referral!!! - don't think she was impressed, anyway at the fab. one stop clinic I saw Dr then had mammogram, then ultrasound, then back to Dr who said thought it was fibroid but gold standard test is core biopsy, done in a few minutes there and then under a little local, I thought there was absolutely nothing to it, a slight clicking noise of thingy she used for taking sample (she took 5 from lump) but honestly it was absolutely fine.
Good Luck - Rosie

I have had three breast cysts and two of them the Consultant drained there and then...they automatically send the sample for testing, it is a routine thing. The other lump was just left and it went away on it's own. Do not think you have anything to worry about and they would not do much more than that ( at my clinic anyway) without further explanation. Good luck XXXX

Hi pb
I know exactly how you are feeling as I was the same last Sept, it didn't matter how many people tried to reassure me - I would only believe things were okay when I heard it from the specialist. However GP's come across these 'lumps and bumps' most days and have a very good feel for what the more common ones ie cysts, fibroid tissue, feel like. When I went to the clinic there were three of us went round the diff tests together and we were all okay in the end, one of the ladies had cysts, she was the least worried because this was a recurring thing for her. Let us know how you get on and remember the vast vast majority are nothing to worry about!

I haven't had a core biopsy but had a needle biopsy around 15 years ago and the lump turned out to be a fibrodoma which I had removed in hospital on a day ward. I got a lump in December last year and went to the breast clinic in January and had two lots of mammograms and a ultrasound. They thought they had seen something on the other breast so they repeated the mammogram but it turned out to be an enlarged lymph node which wasn't cancerous and wouldn't turn to cancer the consultant said. The lump I went with in the first place was a cyst and they drained it there and then although it didn't go down immediately and took a few weeks to disappear.

Good luck for tomorrow and will be thinking of you.:hugs:

Hi pb, hope everything goes well for you. I had a cyst removed from my shoulder a few years ago. It's not a huge deal. You'll be fine :)
