A week ago I increase my dose of Sertraline from 75mg to 100mg. I haven't felt so good in ages! Then, after a week, the effects of the increase stopped, and I feel as bad as before! How can this be? Why would the drug work so well for a week and then stop?

Has anyone else experienced this? Does it kick in again?

Please help!!!

I have no clue. I just started sertraline myself (day 2). How long did have you been taking it?

I've been taking it for about 5 years, but only increased to 100mg last week.

It's bizarre! It's as if the body gets a shock for a week (being on a higher dose) then reverts to the anxiety again!

I phoned the Consultant Psychiatrist today. He told me it's quite common to experience an immediate improvement when increasing dosage, only to find it seems to stop working a week later. He said the reason is unknown, but it can take 4-5 weeks for the increase to start having its desired effect.
