Hi I'm AK47, a pseudonom I use on my rather subversive website Pariah, but my real name is Nathalie. Call me either, whatever you prefer. I'm here because I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder and OCD when I had a nervous breakdown and spent a year in a day programme at a psychiatric unit at age fourteen. I am twenty six now and over the years my OCD has been alot more livable and at time absent but I have had a really severe blast of it since overdosing on very strong amphetamines last week. Yes I know taking drugs is stupid, especially with my condition but it was a stupid mistake, one I will NEVER repeat. However I am here for two reasons, firstly to have a place to go when I need help and advice with regards to my panic, and secondly to help other people deal with theirs since I have got better at dealing with my condition over the years. However the last week has been hellish and I am not back to a normal level of reality yet as my derealization and depersonalization are scaring the s**t out of me.
My advice for any people with an anxiety disorder: Stay away from ALL recreational drugs because we are not built for them. The drugs don't work, they just make you worse.

It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.

We all live and learn. We all know what is good or not for us but sometimes it doesn't stop us indulging.. so learn from it but don't beat yourself up over it.

Hope the DP subsides sooon..

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Thank you all for the kind welcome. It is good to know there are people that suffer from my condition too because as you all know it is easy to feel a bit of a freak sometimes when everyone else seems to float through life without living on the edge of their seat. Thanks again for making me feel welcome and I plan on sticking around.
