recurring sore thoart?

I keep getting really bad sore throats on and off since xmas. Can stress really make your thoart this sore? Its making me worry so much. been to the doctors couple months ago he said it looks red but, IM BONKERS and its all in my head! I went because i could see a black spot at the back of my thoart he said its just a bruise but it still hasn't gone. I hate the feelings i get with the sore thoart as if I have a lump in it.

Does any one else get recurring sore thoarts?

I can easily develop a sore throat or lump in the throat when Im anxious. I also had a feeling of a lump in my throat for almost 2yrs. After many many examinations I finally believed what the doctors told me, that it was globus hystericus (i.e. anxiety). It eventually went away but I get it still occasionally if im upset.
