Have just read my post back. Can't even type properly. It was meant to say that am convincing myself that lack of replies mean that everybody thinks my problem is something serious? Do they? Went to my GP who is brilliant who just gave me more meds for nerve pain. can't believe thats all it is. Please help

hiya,
im sorry that you have not recieved many replies, i dont think a stabbing pain in the eye would be something that many people would relate to not sure. your doctor will be giving you diffrent meds to rule out what it isnt so dont you dare stop going because you think you go to much, thats what they get paid for. have you been to an eye specialist?
i am sure it will be somethin really simple like a trapped nerve or something try not to worry, eaiser said than donexxxx

If the doctor thought it was a serious problem he/she would have refered you asap. It is most likely some sort of trapped nerve that will sort itself out with time.

Rhianna - have you had an eye test? This is a very good health check up and the optician will be able to see anything that is causing pressure behind your optic nerve. I had your exact fear about brain tumour - your anxiety and sensitivity to your symptoms is making it worse, so try to keep busy and do something that distracts you from it. x

hey hey hey

i have exactly the same and still get it ON AND OFF

it is honestly stress related sweetheart, i ahve had a brain tumour, optical nerve problems, the lot and three tests later - guess what, it is stress

the amitryptilline will help the nerve pain definnitely, BUT you msut try and relax, diistract yourself and you will notice the pain goes

i have the pain right now becuase i am thinking about it, but funnily enough i didnt have before i read your post (please don't apologise though).

something to consider though is do u get hayfever? i have got a nasal spray for chronic sinusitis which is triggered by allergies and that relaly helps the eye pain

i also have a blind spot in my right eye, which scares the hell out of me, but i tmust be normal for me as three eye tests have brough no conclusion to the eye pain, apart form the prescription glasses i was wearing were far too strong

hope u are ok honey

Thanktou so much for your posts. I do get hayyfever and about 6 weeks ago I was i the garden and got jabbed in my left eye quite badly. However there was nothing to see and the optician says my eyes are fine. i have been givem migrlieve on prescription, the amopran and nw amitrytilline but nothing has worked ( although I only stated the amitryptilline last night) It is such an intense blunt stabbng pain in the corner of my left eye and I have a sort of cold feeling down the side of my nose which I know sounds weird. My GP is great and knows of my cancer fears. i have had CBT but although I know the heory I can't seem to apply it when I'm oin the throws of a panic like now. How can such a specific pain not be cancer?

honestly hun

such a specific pain can not be cancer because you know deep down it isn't, it's the bloody anxiety and right now it is beating you, come on, kick it up the arse and beat it.

i swear to you i have the same pain in my right eye, towards the outside and the pains in my nose too, it feels icy, but if i do something else, i forget about it, and it isn't there

you have had eye exams, there is nothing there hun, they would have picked it up no worries

Thankyou. It helps to know people understand. You honestly get the same symptoms? it feels like a blunt needle and my nose feels icy. I hate this anxiety. I know i an doing this to myself but don't seem to be able to stop.

i honestly get the same

i have had it most of the day today tbh, and when i get it really bad the numbness also goes to the back of my right hand

it aches, something that i find really useful, is the forehead coolers patches for migraines, they really help take the pain off, try them and see

and yes, i promise, i honestly get the same symptoms
