Hi all,

I'm a fellow sufferer over 6 years. I have all the discribed symtoms with dizziness and ballance being on the top of the list. However, I am also extremely sensitive to heat. I don't really sweat, just get over heated quickly and I can't bear it. I wear t-shirts in the winter because I'm so hot. When I exert myself even for a short time My body over heats and I need to stop. Am I the only one?

Thanks and be well,

Stevo

Hi Stevo

No you are not the only one. I used to be so hot all the time that I had to get a portable air-conditioner for the house. I dreaded the summers (even the UK ones!) cos I would be so warm all the time.

I am a lot better since I lost 2 stone in weight but now I am suffering again cos I am on blood pressure tablets and they give me hot flushes.

I always sleep with just a sheet in bed as I get so warm so you are not alone believe me.

It is not nice is it? Constantly hot and feeling tired cos of it. I can sympathise.

Nicola,

Thanks for the response. Yes I am very weak and dizzy as well. I take BP medicine also. Just curious what you are on and if my meds could cause similar reactions.

Finding this site helped to restore some of my perspective on my panic. It is so hard to not worry about the physical symtoms and sensations when they are hitting you like a sledge hammer.

There is a way out, that I know. I was panic free for over ten years and they were an amazing, drugfree, uninhibited ten years. I was stronger and more alive than before it all started. I played guitar in clubs at night and climbed mountains during the day. What I wouldn't give right now for a tenth of that strength and perspective.

Sorry to ramble on. Just hang in there everyone.

Hi Stevo

Good to hear from you :-)

I am on amlodipine - I was on 10mg but they just reduced it back to 5mg cos I am suffering from breathlessness.

It has been giving me panic attacks cos I panic about being short of breathe - had a bad one today.

Seeing doc next week but I am worried that he will just change it to another one that gives me other side-effects - can't win can I?

What side effects do you think you have had from the Blood Pressure tablets?

Nic,

I know about sensitivity to medications. I take atenenol for BP it helps with the full blown panic and tachicardia but is probably increasing my tiredness. Can also make you feel weak and dizzy - but I felt the same when I was off it for 2 months.

I keep going from one specialist to the next for the weakness, fatigue and dizziness. Every doctor I go to want's to put me on a different drug they are "sure" will help. Then I look at the side effect ..."may cause fatigue, dizziness. Do not operate a motor vehicle.etc etc. I can't risk being more tired or dizzy. I am barely functioning now. I have a job I am scarcely keeping due to sick time and frequently leaving early. I have tried loads of meds. They just create new problems and exhaserbate the existing ones.

I can sympathize. I think I am going to explore some alternate approaches. Hypnosis, accupressure, chiropratic, and maybe some herbal remmedies.

I am also a spiritual person. I believe there are untapped powers beyond and within us that can be beneficial. Our problems lie in the reality we've created. That reality is not concrete. It can be reshaped. It can change a little or it can change alot. That is up to us.

I'm rambling again. Nic you have a great site and you are indeed a special person for creating such a place. It is helping many find what they need.

Please be well,

Steve

Hi Steve

I have just read elsewhere on the site that Atenolol can cause a lot of bad side-effects and there is a newer one available that is better so maybe you could get that one.

I haven't taken my blood pressure tablets since Thursday now (4 days ago) and I know the doc won't be happy but I was getting too panicky with them.

I will see what he says on Friday but I expect he will put me on something else. I don't know anyone that takes tablets for high blood pressure that doesn't have some side-effects and I could really do without them thanks !!!

As for alternative remedies well I have tried hypnotherapy and reiki as well - they were both good.

Glad you like the site :-) and thanks for the kind words.

Keep your chin up

Nic
