hi has anyone ever heard of bigeminy an abnormal heart beat. i was in hospital and they found it they say it nothing to worry bout but i am im always thinking bout it i think im just going to drop down dead any time my heart goes really fast then really slow i get dizzy pain in chest and stomach. feel or be sick off balance sweat shake hot then cold choking feeling pain throgh out body

Hello I have had bigeminy and trigeminy. I also always get ectopics. They use to scare me a lot for years but eventually after reassurance and reading some medical literature, i stopped.

Ectopic beats, and bigeminy are heart rhythms that do not represent any danger to your heart or to your future health as long as your heart is structurally sound (ie you have never had a heart attack or you have some sort of malformation)

People with anxiety tend to have them more often or notice them more due to several causes (adrenalin rushes, constant scanning of symptoms etc)

In my quest for reassurance, I e-mailed a cardiologist from harvard who is a specialist in arrythmias (i got in touch with him thorough the website about.com) and he told me that I can have these rhythms for life and i will live as long as someone who doesnt have them.

So you now know what the deal is, all you have to do is stick it in your head and learn to ignore them if a dr has already checked them!
