HI, This is Penny here.
I have been a Member for some time, and read the Posts
Daily with intrest, however, this is the first time that
I feel safe to share my feelings.

I'm in the Mature Members sections, have had
Anxiety, Fears, Panics, Stresses for many years.

The main thing is OCD,with a mixture of the previous
things mentioned.

I have had times when the Symptoms have been only mild,
I thought that then, I would like to study these
conditions so did some studies and took Exams.

This knowledge allowed me to work with people that
needed help and I did really enjoy the Work.

I do Charity Work now and Work on Help lines.

Now, in my mature years, the Feelings seem to Return.

This is why I have had to come here to all you nice people,
to see if I can get some Help now.

The OCD that I have is, Pefection.

Every thing has to be done in a certain way.
Even getting in or out of the Chair,
going in and out of the door, even going in the
Kitchen has it's own set of Rules.
Every thing takes SO long.

The Family have never really understood these things.

During this Holiday I felt very Tense,
because I could not do some of the Rituals to
make me feel safe.

I feel that you people here DO understand,
I want to make new Friends here, so that the
Self Esteem will get stronger.

I found that when I was Studying, it was the way that
we feel about our selves that is part of the cure process.

I'm now saying a big Hello to Nicky for this wondeful
Site, she has really got something going here.
Meg is also wonderful with all her good words that
She has for the Members.

I thank you for letting me Post here.

I do hope to get to know a lot of you as Friends soon.

Best Wishes,
Penny,

Meg

Dear Penny,

Great to have you join us . Glad you've been gaining from the site silently.

What studies and exams did you do and good for you for doing them ?

Education and the learning the lessons is such a biggie in being able to move forward insted of treading treacle with where we find ourselves with panic and anxiety.

Having the knowledge is one thing but puttng it into practice is another. I think to some extent we all do that ..I did for ages.

You know why the symptoms have returned at this time and you also know what you could be doing to help yourself so life becomes simpler. It's hard though I know.

Well Penny, we'll all be here to support you and encourage you if you choose to start to swap rituals for some anxiety. Then eventually some anxiety to calmness as you progress and finally to not requiring to perform the extensive rituals .

All the best and it's lovely to have you here.

Hi Penny,
I've been a member here for a while as well, but read them more than reply.
I have nightly rituals which have to be followed in a certain way, if I don't do them I (think) I will have a bad day. How do you stop them??
I've not a had a panic attack for ages until Xmas eve had a major one and another one on boxing day. Today I had another panic attack on my Uncles car, they seem to be coming more frequent and I ask myself, did I do anything different last night? the answer is always no.
I am getting so fed up feeling like this.

Hi Penny

Welcome to the Message Forum and your first few posts.

I am so pleased that you have been reading it and I do hope that you have gained some help from the posts.

Did you come in the Chat room one night cos we had a Penny in there - was that you?

Have you had any therapy or medication for your problems and if so what did you try and did it help?

We hope to hear more from you soon :-)
