I've noticed the past couple of days I have teeth indentations on both sides of my tongue, my tongue has never looked like this before.
I remember reading somewhere this is not a good sign :( can anyone remember what it means?

If you have it in the morning, you have possible been clenching during the night. I get this at those times. I know this because it's the same mornings where I have jaw pain from the clenching. Were you particularly stressed the past few days and did you ever notice this before...do you usually check so really know that this doesn't happen all the time?

you probably always had it just never noticed. I don't see why it would be a bad sign. I've had that my whole life and thought it was normal way before any anxiety problems.

Yes I know what you mean as I had the same start in January. The reason for mine was my Iron Deficiency. Certain problems (esp. iron deficiency) can cause a form of glossitis, which causes you to lose the tastebuds all along the edges of your tongue and your tongue swells slightly, making the outside of your tongue look a lot pinker than the center and indentations become visible. This may or may not be the case for you. It can also be caused by medications blocking the absorption of iron in your body.... medications like antibiotics and anti depressants etc... If this is the case for you, it comes down to good dental hygiene and brushing bacteria off your tongue, and taking vitamins to make sure you replace lost iron.... alternatively eat more meat and green veg. Drink lots of water to make your saliva thinner and pay attention to a healthy protein rich diet. Many oral problems are an indicator or a lack of vitamin b in your diet, so personally I would start by buying a strong multivitamin from your local health store (and not a supermarket or non specialist shop as the amount of vitamins per tablet that you would have to take about 9 a day to make any difference at all. Preferably a multi vitamin with additional b complex.
