How long does it usually take to hear about x rays etc?Do you get to know quick if theres something wrong?

Most hospitals tell you to see your Dr in a week and if you don't hear from your Dr in a few days then you can be almost certain that nothing really sinister has shown up as they would contact your Dr within a few days.

A friend of my mothers had a chest x ray and next day her Dr was knocking on her door - they thought she had lung cancer but turned out it was a deep infection- but Dr said they had contacted him the next morning after the x ray.
