Hi Paul,
of course you are not a wimp, lots of people have these thoughts when they have to have a blood test. I am assuming you went to the drs to find out about the new meds... cos if you did then you will be able to go again for the blood test. Plus, you know you have to do it if you want the meds. Or you could talk to your dr about your fears and see what he suggest... hmm.. I'm not being much help lol.
I'm sure someone more helpful will come along with some clearer advice!
Take care

Oh, I see. Did you explain how you felt about going for a blood test when you spoke to him?

Hi Paulb

If you have a kind doc like mine he may come out to you or a practise nurse may. Explain your fears and see what he says

Good luck,

Hi Paul,

I compleatly understand - I have mild agrophobia and a big phobia of hospitals / needles so I know how you feel.

I always take someone with me if I go for a blood test and always explain to the nurse or whoever is doing it that I do have a fear, and they are always so understanding and caring, always let me lay on the bed thingy to have it done and chat away to me to take my mind off it, you can lay there, close your eyes and prenetd your somewhere else!

You WILL be fine and will get through it.

Hi Paul,

My doctor did do mine at the surgery once to save me sitting in the hospital.

Rather than miss the test though if the thought of its too much then perhaps do as Barb suggested and ask if at all poss to be done at home this time.

I always turn away and count to ten in my head - although as a mum of three I've now had so many over the years that they don't bother me anymore but my ex used to be terrrified.

Love Piglet

"Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?" said Piglet.
"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.

Hi again Paul,

Like piglet said - the doc surgery should be able to do the blood test - Before My anxiety reall kicked in, I oculd just about bear going to the hospital, but having them at doc surgery is far less stressful and the nurses always look after you.

Good lukc - You will be fine.

Is the reaction settling yet ?

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
How big is your gallery ?
