escitalopram and wine ????

Hi everyone, does anyone know if drinking wine in the evening slows down escitalopram from working as quickly - i know i shouldnt be drinking - but its the only time i feel normal!! - my tablets are taking ages to kick in - now 9 weeks and still not feeling back to normal yet - upped to 15mg one week ago - thanks xxxx

I used to be on Cipralex a few years ago and I've just gone back on them (struggling at 4 week point at the moment). When I took them before I drank normally and had no problem but some of the posts on the website say it can make anxiety worse???? Saw my consultant last week & asked him about drinking on escitalopram & he said OK in small amounts - although it can make you lose your inhibitions.
