Hi everyone, i've been prescribed citalopram (20mg) by my doctor, i have not taken any yet. just wondering how long they take to work, should i take them at bedtime?:shrug:

I have been taking citalopram for abot 5 weeks now. I saw some possitive effects after about 2 weeks but eberyone is differn't and they say it can take up to 6 weeks.

I would advice taking them in the morning as they gave me insomnia at first which has now gone.

Psychopoet has a couple of really good threads on citalopram. Give them a read.

Personally I have found taking them to be a really possitive experience so far and are really helping me. You will read alot of negative stuff about them but remember everyone is differn't. You probably will experience side effects for the first couple of weeks but these should ease with time.

Hi bebbe, I take then in the morning and have had no major adverse effects.
Don't expect a quick instant fix and give them time to work.

And remember no two peeps react exactly the same way to med's
