rash on throat

When you have a cold is it normal to have a red / purple rash on the soft palate (sp) on mouth. Ive been having sore throats on and off since xmas and last month had tonsillitis I took my antibiotics but my throat hasnt really felt right since. been doctors about 3 times all they keep saying is its me worried. But now I have a cold and looked at my throat and it has this rash. Im panicking so much is this normal?

Please any replies would be greatful Im really panicking. I will go back to doctors tomorrow bnut just wanted some resurance(sp)to get throught tonight xx thanks xx
