I suppose I have what's called Globus Hystericus, the infamous tight throat feeling. Recently, waking up relatively early for me 8 or 9 in the morning I go downstairs make my breakfast and a coffee. However, (this is a little gross, I apoligise) with the last gulp of coffee I always end up gagging it back up. I will fully swallow it, but, I think it gets stuck in my throat or oesophigus and my gag reflex crops up.

It's not a serious problem, I don't think, just a result of retracting throat muscles, but it sure as hell very unpleasant, and sometimes it isn't liquid that gets stuck there, so I supose there's the added bonus of choking.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I've experienced this a few times in the past. Not particually with drinks though. It tends to be more with food for me. It happenes because your expecting it to, and know its going to happen. So all you need to do is get out of that habit. And stop focusing on it. Its very hard though. But it will come eventually ;)
