does anyone else get worried by silly, silly things like war, bombing, nuclear war, global warming, natural disasters or armageddon style things? i have always been worried about these things since i was very young - for some odd reason. it used to upset me, but not cause anxiety symptoms. now they cause me symptoms if I get too worked up over it. Just making sure I'm not completely alone and weird

p.s since my anxiety has calmed down a lot recently, i don't get symptoms over it so much anymore really, but I do still get worried.

Hi Kathy,

I don't worry about that exact stuff, but I have caught myself out imagining the worst, like that my dog dies, or I go round the next bend & have a huge car accident. I think it's my memory playing tricks on me from watching the news sometimes. I hate the news, what a downer. When I realized I was doing it I tried to counter it with positive imagination. When I let myself imagine that bad stuff, it's like my brain believes it really happened so I try to blank it out & replace it with any other images that are less violent. Also it happened a lot after my injury because I felt traumatized, but I kept seeing potential injuries or worse, in everything.

None of us are alone. Mostly we aren't used to admitting that stuff in the real world. That said, I constantly feel alone in who I am & what I believe in. Maybe everyone does in varying levels?
