Hi Dave,
Am completely useless at taking photos! Very embarrassed to admit I still use the old stlye cameras as I've never mastered digital ones! lol My son did attempt to show me how to scan but gave up!
I look forward to seeing any other photos you have.
Many thanks.

I love photography and used to be really into it when I lived in a city, but the countryside doesn't inspire me, I find nature inherently beautiful as it is so I prefer to take photos of the city or abstract photography. Lucky enough to have had a few photographs published in the Guardian... lost my mojo for photography but I want to get that back :)

Both are from our garden, the sunflower from late last Summer, and the poppy from a couple of weeks ago.

I have a question, not sure if anyone can help, but what sort of camera did you use for the pictures, love taking photos, BUT my camera is a Kodak Digital Camera, it has quite a good spec with it ( i paid about 150 ish) Will i be able to take good pictures with it like yours or do i need a special camera?
thanks
xx

I use a Nikon D80 dSLR, it cost me about £600 and I had to buy a lens on top of that - a good lens can cost £200 - £2,000 (and more). However if you're just starting out you can get entry level dSLRs like the Nikon D40 and Nikon D60 for about £300. It's a long time since I checked prices and things :)

There's nothing wrong with compacts, it's not the equipment that takes the photograph it's the person that makes it good - being able to see and frame a shot is a skill that can be learnt but not bought :)
