I am now slowly tapering off 20mg of Citalopram. I have been off and on numerous SSRI's in the past and had no side effects coming off other than some weird dreams for a week or so. It seems like I have read a few horror stories on here about coming off Citalopram (brain zaps), but was wondering if that is always the case. I assume more people are going to write about things going wrong (because they want reassurance) than when nothing happens, but was wondering how many people came off the medicine with no side effects. How long does the drug typically take to get out of your system?
