I have been suffering from panic dissorder for 6 years. The last year they have got relly bad and I went and seen my doctor and I take 20mg paxil now which controls my panic attacks,(I have been taking paxil for 4 months now) but over the last year I have had these weird feelings that are hard to explain. The feelings will last for like a month straight then go away for a week where I feel ok and then It comes back. It doesnt feel like anxiety but after feeling this way for a while it starts eating at me and I start to get panicky, but the panic is controlable. The weird feelings are like my head is constantlly not in reality. I realy need to convince myself to do anything cause I feel so MENTALY SICK, that is a good way to explain it is(MENTALLY SICK). Is it possable there is somthing else wrong with me and what could it be, or am I just going through anxiety symptoms, or do I have some freakish tumor or diesese
help would be appreciated. THANK YOU

ive never had panic attacks yet and i hope they may not come, but i know of the feelings your talkin about and it drains you mentaly and physically ive been to doctors afew times and they all put it down to anxiety, I know it makes you think that what if its not what if its another illness and its a vicious circle goin round an round and its hard not to think that. dont know if this will help but your not the only one goin through it and i think this site will help. take care m8[^]

B,
This is the anxiety part of Panic/Anxiety Disorder! It's okay. You are not going mad! Nor are you going to be!
Have you checked into having your medication switched? It might be a good idea to speak with a psychiatrist rather than a regular MD. I've taken Paxil before and it didn't do anything for my anxiety. I understand that Effexor is good for both panic and anxiety, but I haven't tried that one myself.
The worry thoughts are landing you in a vicious cycle and you are into depersonalization. Look it up and read about it.
Thinking of you and just know that we all know where you are coming from!
Hang in there!

I was only on paxil for a week and felt strange in my head , like i was an outsider watching my life......made me scared.

Theres so many other drugs to try, I now take beta blockers and diazepam on bad days.

good luck

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

sorry to hear that your feeling like this but it is common with anxiety. I still have Depersonalisation but some days better than others. I have personally found that lack of sleep doesn't help it, it seems worse when I don't get a good nights sleep. Also the best advice I got for it was 'Distraction' easier said than done I do know but it will get easier. When you start to feel that way just go and do the dishes or read a book, go out for a walk. Just keep your self focused on something else and it will pass.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

Unfortunately I am quite an expert at these feelings.

Very very hard to cope with but just anxiety.

Nicola has added links to some of my posts on dp/dr, which is a symptom you are getting.

Feel free to pm me if you need to talk. I log on every day in order to try and help people going through this. I have not fully recovered but I am getting better and understand it now.
I feel the need to help everyone else who suffers from this awful symptom because I know how bad it can be.

Take care hun

I also suffer from this feeling, it seems to never go away. I feel as if though i'm fully out of my head, like i've been locked out and cannot get back in. But I truly believe that this can be beat...I'm new on here and already I find that this site has helped already. You had a life before anxiety, you'll have a life after...You just have to remain strong. I am going through this very thing right now, as I am typing to you...if you ever need someone to talk to, you can always talk to me :)
