The woman doing the test said my results will be back in 10 days, it has to go back to the specialist to look at. Would the hospital ring me if anything was wrong? The earliest appointment i could get for my results is 1st July and thats back with the hospital not my own gp. If they found something bad like a Glomus Tumor but didnt actually tell me until my appointment then that would be very wrong id imagine?

If they see something life threatening they would have said straight away, they wouldn't have let you walk away from the hospital. This is what i was told by the radiographers when in your position with a brain scan.

Thanks for your reply:) I just rang the hospital as im worrying and i was told the results are back and have been reported on but obviously they cant discuss it with me. I told them i didnt want to wait until 1st July so they said if my gp gives them a ring, then they will give him the report to tell me. When i just mentioned this to my surgery they said they wernt aloud to do that but they'll see what they can do and then they'll ring me so im just sitting by the hone now:wacko:

I have had about 20 MRI and CT scans over the last six months, they can give the report to your GP with your permission. I am lucky enough to have an excellent GP who goes out of her way for me, but personally I prefer my consulant to give me the results in person as she is a professor in her field.

I only had to wait a week between results and biopsys but it felt like eternity, my advice is try to forget about it the best you can and do stuff that distracts you. Walk the dog, do some gardening, anything physical and that requires some degree of attention. The time will pass quicker this way. Sitting around waiting for them only drags the days out .

Tell yourself it is a week on wednesday, and tomorrow is Monday. :)

If, like me, the out come of the results could be life threatening, then depending on the work load of the hospital and how many people are in the same boat (or worse) then they would tell you as fast as they can but not immeditately. Don't mean to contradict the above reply, it's just what I was told first hand off my consultant.

(I have lesions on my liver that could be cancerous)

Hi Dale, my doctor did ring me with the results and all is normal:yesyes: It was quite funny because we had one hell of a conversation about how he also has ear problems and is waiting for a scan. You would swear we were good mates having a chat!:roflmao:
