Instead of going on cerazette my GP has prescibed loestrin 20, he said it only has a low dose of hormone unlike other combined pills so not to worry about taking it (I worry about the DVT risk).

The gynae told him and myself that the combined pill would be the better option for regulating my cycle and controlling my possible endometreosis.

Has anyone been on loestrin? did you have any side effects? I was on the pill about 11 years ago and I am not sure if I have been on this one to be honest.I do remember I had headaches and pains in my arms when on the combined pill, think it was Dianette I was on to start with and my GP said the pill didn't suit me so I was taken off it.

I don't mind if I gain weight and start to fill out on ithttp://www.baby-greenhouse.co.uk/smilies/wink.gif hope it is a side effecthttp://www.baby-greenhouse.co.uk/smilies/laugh.gif I just don't fancy having headaches, no sex drive, depression etc...that it lists on the leaflethttp://www.baby-greenhouse.co.uk/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I'm not very active due to my anxiety and not worried about DVT at all. I just keep my legs moving when I'm at home (use my exercise bike or walk around the house a bit) and I'm ok. There is only a very small risk of getting it, higher risk getting it going on a plane than being on the pill

Thank you all.

I worry about the DVT risk and I worry about starting new medication, I am a nightmare.

I am still unsure if to take it, I know GP is right and that I need to start it but i cant seem to bring myself to do it:-( I had an allergic reaction 4 yrs ago to an anti depressant and it has left me terrified, then once on it I will worry about DVT risk no doubt.

GP has told me its the safest combined pill to be on??

Was the best pill i ever took and i tried 5. No sickness, no spotting no side effects, just dont forget to take it cos if u do the cycle messes up. Im not active at all and have had no issues with dvt, was on it for 3 years.

Thanks.

I think from what I have read that the risk when on the pill is increased if you become immobile for one reason or another? maybe I am wrong.:winks:
